Pray
God answers prayer, and America has never needed prayer more than now. Pray for the children and families held captive; pray for wisdom for the legislature, pray for guidance and assistance for those attempting reform. Pray about your appropriate role.
Educate Friends and Family
Most people be-bop through life, not paying attention. Help those you love become wide awake, alert parents and citizens. Bring this topic up at church, at family reunions, in the classroom, and at the water cooler. You will be shocked at how many horror stories you hear. These stories need to be voiced in your community.
Contact media and your legislators to urge meaningful reform
The most potent contact for reform is your local newspaper. Send the editor a very brief letter; reference this website. Then, follow up with a telephone call.
Too many times in personal conversations with legislators on CPR efforts, We've been given the "deer in the headlights" look. Children's Services lobbies legislators all the time, telling them what a great job they do. The system can't get better if legislators don't get a reality check from responsible adults.
